About this Job

Eridan is starting to build our Software Quality Assurance team. This role is a founding member of this team, and so you will be responsible for the quality of our software that the customers interact with.This involves having a deep understanding of Operating Systems, Network protocols, Network & OS Security. This is in addition to a proven track record in creating test plans against requirements, automating and executing tests, and producing test reports. You may also get an opportunity to build a team of SQA Engineers in the future.

A successful SQA Engineer will be able to think critically and provide insight and analysis to resolve problems and make improvements. Given our anticipated growth, a SQA Engineer at Eridan must be willing to learn new techniques quickly and be able to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. We look for individuals with persistence, curiosity, strong sense of urgency and excellent communication skills.

As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Eridan you will:

• Install Embedded Linux on SD cards, USB, and multiple embedded devices, VMs, laptops etc.
• Set up SSH, SSH tunnels on embedded and desktop Linux
• Set up Docker or VMs on Linux desktops
• Work with Hardware engineers to validate/test build results
• Work with hardware team to verify correctness and performance
• Support system integration
• Create automated tests for testing radios, 5G, Linux, FPGA, etc.
• Create test plans to make sure software is built to standards/requirements
• Oversee Software Integration testing and Release management
• Writing Script environment that can automate testing, evaluate every build
• Get to know our customers well and form great relationships with them.

Qualities of a Successful Candidate

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding, or equivalent practical experience
• Expertise with Embedded Linux/Unix system
• Experience Installing various Linux distributions
• Experience Booting new Linux installations on embedded platforms
• Update Docker containers
• Expert level knowledge of embedded Linux, writing SD cards, partitioning, updating kernel and bootloaders
• Expert level Knowledge of Docker, Dockerfile
• Experience with continuous integration, CircleCI preferred
• Interest in automating routine tasks
• Strong communication skills
• Network/OS Security experience or interest is highly desirable
• General Curiosity around how things work especially related to 5G
• Interest in quality software, and systems & methodologies to achieve high quality
• Interest in continuously improving self and the team

Salary Range

Given our anticipated growth, we are open to hiring individuals with varying levels of experience to fill this role. Salary will be commensurate with job-related skills, experience and other relevant factors. The base salary range for the primary location of this role is between $120,000 and $160,000 plus stock options and benefits.
