Business Development Director

Location: Detroit, MI

Experience: 13+ years (Must have digital marketing experience)
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing (Desired: Master's Degree in Marketing)

Details of The Role

This role is for an experienced consultant responsible for providing business consulting in digital marketing encompassing areas such as personalization programs, marketing analytics, to clients across North America.


  • In close collaboration with the Geography Business Development Head, you will develop strategies to create demand for identified offerings in existing client base.
  • You will be a key team member in new customer acquisition pursuit teams and strategic deals.
  • Take ownership for the end-to-end sales cycle and bring together the best of TCS to the opportunity.
  • Manage a consistent, high quality deal pipeline to achieve the set sales target
  • Building up a solid understanding of prospective customers, their needs and challenges, ensuring you are well prepared to align our services to our prospect and their needs
  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of industry (partners', competitors' and clients') activities
  • Influencing prospect decision making in a manner which educates the customer and builds up their trust in our expertise
  • Take briefs, pitch new business proposals to C-level executives such as CMOs, CDOs, CIOs and Chief Experience Officers.
  • Promote our services and identity in trade and networking events
  • Once customer agree the Statement of Work, you will work collaboratively with our Delivery Team in the on-boarding and hand over of new clients to guarantee a seamless transition.
  • Build relationships at the highest level with new contacts and be a trusted partner in the client's business transformation journey.


  • Proven track record of winning high-value design and creative work and/or digital marketing and online transformation for big brands in the US & Canada
  • 10+ years of strong commercial track record with demonstrable success at securing new business and increasing client revenues
  • Must Have: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing / Desired Qualifications: Master's Degree in Marketing
  • Experience and passion for Marketing automation / CRM, Customer experience transformation and how this can solve some of today's and future biggest challenges for CMO's, Head of Marketing, Digital etc.
  • Agency, consultancy or marketing technology vendor experience in business development and / or client services roles.
  • A strong understanding of digital marketing channels (SEO, Paid Social, Paid Search, Display and Content) and their role in the wider marketing environment
  • Evidence of consistently making good sales decisions, which have resulted in closing fruitful business deals of considerable size
  • Understanding of the sales process and how this works with various Marketing technology partners.
  • Problem solving skills; able to think on your feet, challenging the norm and allowing you to give relevant and personalized solutions to customer based on your knowledge and experience during workshops and Hackathons.
  • Consultative sales skills, giving open answers and addressing issues head on
  • A proven history of creating and delivering successful presentations
  • Experience in working with cross functional teams in large pursuits.
  • An active interest in the marketing and advertising industry
