Environmental Field Technician - (AZ, IA, OK, NE, TX)

Environmental Consulting & Technology (ECT), Inc. has an immediate need for Environmental Field Technicians to join our Natural Resources Service Line. Qualified candidates will need to be willing to live near or travel to project locations in Arizona, Iowa, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for someone new in their career that wants to gain real-life experience utilizing their environmental science degree.

What you’ll do:

Environmental Field Technicians will be responsible for implementing post construction avian and bat mortality monitoring including fatality searches and bias correction trials while adhering to standardized protocols and keeping detailed data sheets.

What you’ll perform:

• Conduct post-construction avian and bat mortality surveys at multiple wind facilities in Waco, TX, San Angelo, TX or Des Moines, IA
• Identify and cataloging of species
• Data management of information

What you’ll need:

• The ideal candidate will possess an Associate of Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Biological, Wildlife, or Ecological Sciences or similar field and 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated work reliability

Additional job requirements include:

• Work in varying outdoor weather conditions, that may include extreme temperatures and possibly working in and around water
• Work long hours (40-60 hours) during each survey week, outside of standard hours
• Walk long distances and carry heavy field equipment
• Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Overtime in excess of 40 hours/week will be compensated at 1.5X standard pay.
• Travel expenses and per diem paid for all out-of-town travel
