Job Description Summary

Pyrovio Consulting is seeking a training developer to join our remote team. This role reports to the Organizational Communications & Learning Manager and works to align documentation with training to meet client’s goals.

The training developer will work closely with implementation teams to define, create, and edit content for various types of training materials including, but not limited to, work instructions, quick reference guides, web-based training courses, and instructor-led training courses, as well as other supplemental training documentation.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

• Design and develop training in various formats (i.e., instructor-led, web-based, demos, reference, etc.), using various mediums and resources.

• Create engaging learning materials and compelling course content.

• Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs and conduct needs analyses.

• Set instructional end-goals and create content that matches them.

• Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.

• Create supporting material/media (i.e., audio, video, demos, etc.).

• Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course.

• Maintain project documentation and course folders.

• Manage the review and approval process of training related documentation.

• Assist in creating new job procedures.

• Analyze, synthesize, and condense text that includes technical terminology.

• Work closely with the implementation teams in defining the content for work instructions, training materials, and other reference documents.

• Gather and analyze technical data and create, update, and maintain documentation and training materials.

• Organize materials and create the content according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.

• Develop training material suitable for self-study, classroom, or e-learning consumption.

• Maintain records and files of work and revisions using version control standards.

• Work with subject matter experts and management to identify and address knowledge/process gaps.

 

 

Additional Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide input to the visual communication of complex concepts and the layouts of documents and other materials.

• Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers and subject matter experts.

• Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.

• Create or select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and flowcharts to illustrate material.

Required Qualifications – Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or similar/related field.

• Minimum 5 years of combined experience with developing training curriculum and creating training materials, as well as authoring, editing, and maintaining complex documentation.

• Experience with e-learning platforms or design software (i.e., Articulate360, Captivate, Camtasia, etc.).

• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).

• Experience working closely with technical staff (i.e., Engineers, IT, software developers, etc.).

Travel Requirements

• Travel < 25%, to client if needed
