SUMMARYAre you seeking an opportunity to be a part of a stable award-winning multi-disciplined engineering firm as a Structural Project Manager working with the Water Design Center's Structural Group? Do you have structural support experience developing structural designs for new water and wastewater treatment plants or improvements to existing water and wastewater treatment facilities?RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Group Leader in managing and mentoring teams, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and ensuring the delivery of quality work. Experienced at developing drawings and specifications for water and wastewater treatment plant projects.
Provide structural designs and support as required for a variety of new water and wastewater projects including treatment plants and/or providing improvements to existing water and wastewater treatment facilities. Develop detailed structural designs for water and wastewater treatment process basins, chemical facilities... administration buildings, site retaining walls, preparation of design calculations, coordination with other support discipline activities, coordination with regional offices and regulating agencies, construction cost estimating, and quality assurance and control.
Be technically competent in structural engineering design including structural steel, concrete, and masonry Manage scope, budget, and schedules for a team of multi-disciplined (civil, process, structural, mechanical, electrical, and I&C) project engineers, design engineers, and CAD Technicians. Be responsible for time management and work product quality instructions, the scope of work, level of effort, accounting, and associated man-hour estimates. Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects.
Conduct written and oral project reporting for clients and team leader including progress reports Assist in the execution of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans for water and wastewater treatment projects. Be responsible for the overall needs of the team including continuing education and learning based on project needs. Candidates must have a basic understanding of the multi-discipline required for the implementation of infrastructure capital improvements.REQUIREMENTS Project Manager must hold a Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Candidates must have been in charge of structural designs, including detailed plans and specifications, for major projects. Knowledge of ACI 350 is a plus Candidates must have 5 to 10 years of technical experience with no less than 3 years of experience in project/team leadership. Candidates must also have a thorough knowledge of finite element modeling using plates and frame elements.
Candidates must be a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or be able to obtain licensure within 1 year of employment. Candidates must have strong communications skills as required to manage project teams and maintain internal client relationships.STAND OUT PREFERRED SKILLS A Master's Degree in civil or structural engineering. Working knowledge of ACI 350 - Code Requirements for Environmental Engineering Concrete Structures.
Registration as a Structural Engineer or be willing to take the NCEES Structural Engineer exam within two years of employment. A working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit CAD programs
