Job Description

 General Position Description

CALCULEX, Inc. has been a leading provider of data recording, processing, and routing solutions to the commercial and military aerospace segment for over 30 years. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Program Management and Operations Management executive to manage the execution of all major programs and to lead the capture of new programs and contracts from new and existing customers. The position will be based in Las Cruces, NM at CALCULEX’s main facility. The position will require occasional travel (~20% post-COVID) and an ability to work collaboratively with the internal CALCULEX team consisting of engineering, finance, HR, Quality, procurement, and manufacturing professionals. The position will report directly to Bob McGill, Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Responsibilities:

·         Primary customer interface and relationship manager for all major programs

·         Track and analyze budgets for all major programs

·         Develop, maintain, and analyze schedules for all major programs

·         Ensure all contractual requirements are communicated to internal team and ensure that they are met

·         Conduct periodic Program Reviews on all major programs and track action items to closure

·         Develop and maintain performance metrics as agreed by the Executive Management team

·         Active participation in bid and proposal activities, including cost and pricing development and analysis

·         Day to day management of Materials Organization, including purchasing, inventory management, MRP, and subcontracts management personnel and functions

·         Day to day management of Manufacturing Organization, including assembly and test personnel and functions

·         Seek and capture follow-on and new opportunities within new and existing key customer accounts

·         Participate as active member of company Executive Management team reporting to Chief Operating Officer

Experience/Background Required:

·         10+ years relevant experience in Program Management and/or Operations Management of Aerospace and Defense programs

·         Bachelor’s Degree, Engineering Preferred

·         PMP Certifications preferred

·         Excellent customer relations skills

·         Demonstrated experience interfacing with customer’s engineering, subcontracts, program management, and executive management organizations

·         Understanding of defense related avionics/electronics technology. Airborne recording, processing, and routing experience a plus

·         Understanding of and experience with all phases of mil/defense programs including design and development; Qual testing; SDRL’s; pilot production; rate production; and aftermarket support

·         Understanding of DFAR’s and government contracting rules and requirements

·         Business development experience with major Aerospace and Defense Prime contractors and with DoD agencies (USAF, USN/USMC, Army, other). Experience on international Aerospace and Defense programs a plus

·         Demonstrated experience collaborating closely with internal engineering, finance, manufacturing, and supply chain cross-functional teams

·         MS Project understanding and scheduling experience

·         Understanding of the application of Earned Value Measurement (EVM) techniques

·         Experience assembling and evaluating complex bids and proposals, including non-recurring engineering, qual test, and recurring manufacturing content

·         Experience developing and tracking key performance metrics

Other

Ability to obtain a DoD Top-Secret clearance is required

Strong computer skills and experience with MS Office suite
