Position Overview

The Senior Staff Accountant will report to the Manager of Revenue and will be a key member of the rev ops team, supporting several of our solutions. This role is responsible for driving efficiencies and improvements within our processes and systems, the analysis and reporting of revenue under ASC 606, and the monthly close procedures and reconciliations. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environment, embraces a collaborative work style and possesses a customer and operations focus.

What You'll Work On

  • Perform monthly close activities, including preparation of revenue, accounts receivable and deferred revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis
  • Continually develop and implement process improvements to streamline revenue recognition and shorten close timelines
  • Assist with annual financial audits, including preparation of revenue schedules and supporting documentation to the external auditors
  • Perform technical accounting research and prepare documentation around audit risk areas
  • Perform monthly billing and cash application
  • Perform the calculation and maintain detailed commissions schedules, including capitalization requirements in accordance with ASC 606/ASC340.
  • Monitor regulatory or business changes and address impacts to revenue accounting operations
  • Assist with the implementation and compliance of internal controls around revenue recognition
  • Support ERP enhancements and system implementations, as needed
  • Support the development and measurement of top line KPIs
  • Ad hoc projects and technical accounting research as needed to support the role and function

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
  • 2+ years of progressive experience; some experience in Big 4 or equivalent public accounting firm is highly desirable
  • Strong technical accounting skills and exposure to ASC 606 revenue recognition rules under U.S. GAAP
  • SaaS or Technology industry experience is preferred
  • Experience with a Big-4 or equivalent national accounting firm is highly desirable
  • Experience working with one or more financial ERP/general ledger systems. NetSuite and supplementary revenue systems/modules is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to build relationships, a good listener with outstanding interpersonal influencing qualities, and a natural, effective consultative style
  • Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced team environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to tight deadlines

Base Compensation Range: ($64,000.00 to $87,000.00) annually

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission and equity. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.

The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
