Job Description

We are looking to add a passionate, service-minded, and hardworking HR/Recruiting Specialist to our HR team! As the HR Specialist, you will be responsible for leading full-service recruiting efforts, creating and publishing company social media content, assisting the HR team with various activities and projects, and participate in developing care initiatives to support employee recognition and well-being.

HR/Recruiting Specialist Job Description

The HR/Recruiting Specialist is responsible for leading full-service recruiting efforts, creating and publishing company social media content, assisting the HR team with various activities and projects, and participate in developing care initiatives to support employee recognition and wellbeing.

HR/Recruiting Specialist Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate resumes, screening candidates via calls or emails, and facilitating pre-interview assessments
  • Schedule interviews for management team members and participate in interviews when needed
  • Discuss and establish qualification requirements and terms and conditions of employment with managers
  • Perform necessary follow ups with candidates and mediate between the candidate and hiring manager
  • Use web-based technology and social media to analyze hiring trends and post job vacancies
  • Maintain a database on employees and applicants for future vacancies
  • Assist with creating and updating detailed job descriptions
  • Organize and participate in career fairs, community activities, and other public and departmental recruitment-related events
  • Responsible for creating and publishing company and employee content on all social media platforms
  • Work closely with marketing and safety on strategic social media posting needs
  • Develop employee care initiatives to support retention and recognition
  • Responsible for promoting and processing actions needed for the employee referral program
  • Assist in hiring process including but not limited to; pre-employment tests, candidate travel and expenses, applicant tracking system, background checks, drug test administration, offer letters, informational packets, equipment orders and onboarding process
  • Assist the Human Resources team with various research projects, and/or special projects
  • Perform check ins with employees after their hire
  • ·Perform employee service functions by answering employee requests and questions
  • Provide support with data entry of all necessary employee updates
  • Other duties as assigned

 

HR/Recruiting Specialist Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years of HR experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of recruiting experience
  • The ability to work within a team and to coordinate team activities
  • Excellent analytical skills to examine resumes and find the best-suited candidates
  • Clear verbal skills to communicate well with candidates and managers
  • Proficient writing skills to produce necessary reports
  • Strong negotiation skills when discussing terms and conditions of employment
  • Knowledge of hiring strategies, labor laws, and employment equity

Supervisory Requirements:

This position has no supervisory requirements

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some overtime requirements.

Travel

Some travel requirements are expected for this position

Required Education
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred
