Encadria is currently recruiting for a temporary to hire Lab Technician (raw materials) at our Gypsum Laboratory in Decatur, GA. Raw Material Lab Technicians create value by understanding product performance in assembly applications through testing and data analysis. The Technician will work under the direction of the Gypsum Division Quality staff. This role is based out of our Decatur Technical Center (just outside Atlanta). The Decatur site is the heart of Georgia-Pacific R&D and Technical efforts and includes a state-of-the-art analytical lab and extensive application testing capabilities.

A Day In The Life Includes:
Conducting testing of various raw materials using various analytical instruments and gravimetric procedures.
Support testing for other researchers as requested.
Complete assigned projects as requested.
Knowledge and commitment to safe work practices
Using Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint workflow, and statistics
Collecting test data, apply statistics, graph, interpret results, and recommend future testing
What You Will Need:
o Associate Degree or equivalent
o A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a technical, research and development facility or quality control laboratory
o Experience with analyzing testing data to verify quality of raw materials
o Experience with utilizing statistics to analyze data and make inferences
o Must be able and willing to work in an industrial environment, including periods of time in dusty, noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas
o Must be able and willing to work safely, including wearing and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
o Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to learn various PC-based applications
What Will Put You Ahead?
Degree in Chemistry
Experience with building product testing and building science knowledge
