instructional Services Coordinator (Performing Arts Theatre Technician) The position is full-time. It is better if the person is flexible for hours due to needs of the theatre productions. It will be a minimum of 40 hours per week. Start Date: ASAP End Date: June 30, 2020 with possible extension Coordinates and directs the technical and stage operational aspects of performing arts productions in collaboration with the Faculty in the program. Works with a specific emphasis in lighting and sound design and the management of the technical needs within the Performing Arts. Demonstrates a commitment to service excellence, innovation, student success, integrity and diversity in the performance of job duties. Assists with the maintenance of the Performing Arts and other theatrical equipment. Assists with technical needs in the Performing Arts venues as needed including general College events and rental events. Frequently supports events with evening and weekend production runs.
35% - Ensures readiness of Performing Arts Center for all users 20% - Coordinates the design of lighting and sound for Theater, Music and Dance Departments 10% - Trouble shoots or arranges for maintenance and repair of theatrical equipment including the selection of suppliers or vendors for outsourcing; coordinates with Information Technology and Facilities Departments as appropriate 10% - May coordinate master schedule of activities and resolve conflicts 10% - Provides training to technical staff and student assistants 5% - Recommends and participates in purchasing/upgrades for technical needs in the Performing Arts 5% - Manage all video/audio recordings for the Performing Arts in coordination with Faculty 5% - Assists Program Specialists with duties as needed
Position-specific Technical Expectations: • Have strong understanding/experience with production lighting technologies including lighting console equipment, connectivity and cabling, programming/designing lighting plans, industry standard theatrical lighting equipment such as ETC LED systems/consoles • Have strong understanding/experience with performing arts sound systems including microphone systems, amplifier integration, and higher capacity mixing requirements; technology includes sound board/console products such as Midas or Yamaha • Experience running technical systems and resolving issues for Performance Productions • Experience recording professional quality audio and video
