The Import/Export Coordinator is responsible for arranging Import & Export shipments (air, ocean & truck) with freight forwarder and Customs Brokers with required documentation, including Consolidated Packing List, Classification codes, Packing specifications and Commercial Invoices. Responsible for data entry into JDE and record retention processing. Ability to audit international transactions for accuracy, and in conformance with applicable trade laws.
Responsible for communication and expediting with global companies & vendor orders.
Responsible for documentation organization for inbound products and receipt of material into company JDE system to code “In-Transit” and “Trans-to-Stock”.
Perform Broker Management for U.S. Customs & Border Protection clearances
Audit Customs Entries for accuracy and in compliance with US Customs Regulations
Responsible for Importer Security Filing (ISF) and management
Facilitate & trouble shoot deliveries with domestic truckers and courier express mailings
Interface with Sales, Warehouse, Inventory & Logistics stakeholders.
FTA coordination & metric reporting
Work with OEM portals for domestic shipping and or AALA requirements
Assists with special projects as determined by manager
Arranges sailing schedules with freight forwarders in coordination to meet customer delivery requirements
Create and submit freight forwarders with required documentation timely
Obtains export shipment quotes when required
Validate Denied Party Transaction
Manage Routed Shipments declarations
Update JDE transactions daily
Responsible for record retention practices of import and export transactions
Ability to read and interpret documents such as; Bill of Lading, Airway Bill, Entry Summary, Packing List, Commercial Invoice and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret documents such as delivery orders, shipping manifests and customs documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information, orally and in written form and respond to questions in detail, clearly and concisely.
Requires knowledge of the movement and handling of freight both domestically and internationally.
Ability to adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and follow-up to successfully complete the projects.
Excellent organization and ability to follow-up with multiple parties.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Requires working knowledge of PC Windows compatible software including word processing, spreadsheet, power point, database JDE management and electronic mail.
Strong customer service skills; ability to maintain effective relations and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to read, write and understand English.
