Team Lead - Legal Operations

Elevate is hiring a Team Lead to join our Legal Operations team as part of the delivery of customer invoice review projects in the US. You will use your excellent attention to detail and prior experiences to implement legal spend services for our customers as well as managing a team of up to eight Legal Spend Analysts (Legal Bill Reviewers) who are implementing legal spend services as well. You will provide quality control for the review provided by the Legal Spend Analysts (Legal Bill Reviewers) on your team and leading other day to day aspects of the work of your legal spend team. You will use data and other information to support customers with analytics, strategy, and reporting.  As the process matures, you will help develop best practices, train new team members, and support customers in more advanced spend management analytics. You will support a variety of customers and will work to deliver solutions and directly impact ROI.

You might be the right person if you have...

  • Familiarity with the legal services industry.
  • Experience delivering vendor management, procurement, or pricing solutions in similar or different industries.
  • Strong data management experience, able to make meaningful metrics from large data sets.
  • Flexibility and interest in learning the wide variety of technology solutions that Elevate delivers, including our industry leading Cael legal app suite.
  • Experience delivering results to senior leadership and/or customers.
  • Exceptional Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with eBilling, Contract Management, eSignature, business intelligence and reporting tools a plus.

Specifically, you will...

  • Review law firm bills to ensure compliance with the customer's billing guidelines.
  • Conduct analysis on billing data to identify spend management and legal department improvement opportunities.
  • Support and deliver legal business solutions to corporate law departments and law firms.
  • Train and manage team members.
  • Provide quality control measures on client performed work.
  • Work with Management to provide all data and metrics required by customers.
  • With the help of a team, implementing solutions to improve department and firm operations and improve ROI.
  • Extend a customer's organization to provide subject matter expertise.

  • Acute attention to detail while also using good judgment to achieve desired results within timelines.
  • Excellent drafting skills, particularly depicting complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Good negotiation skills; with ability to find solutions and common ground.
  • Professionalism in both verbal and written work.
  • Keen understanding and ability to comply with confidentiality obligations.
  • Excellent listening as well as communication skills and the judgment to know which skill to use in a given setting.
  • Integrity and ability to own mistakes.

Technical Skills

  • Exceptional Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with eBilling, Contract Management, eSignature, business intelligence and reporting tools a plus.
  • Strong project management skills.

Experience

  • 3-5+ years experience as a business analyst or similar strategic operations role (corporate strategy, vendor management, analytics, strategic sourcing).
  • 1-3+ years experience managing teams of up to eight (8) team members.
  • Prior experience as an attorney, paralegal, legal spend analyst, legal bill auditor, legal bill reviewer, or billing coordinator for law firms, or prior consulting experience a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA/MA/ JD a plus.
