Welder

The Welder is responsible for working both independently and on a team, to produce quality parts at an acceptable rate, while maintaining safety and company level standards of product.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, wire feed, etc.)
• Set and adjust MIG welding equipment to produce an acceptable weld in flat and horizontal positions
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, micrometers, fillet gauges etc.)
• Fabricate new metal components in accordance with blueprints and in compliance with all applicable standards of safety and performance.
• Repair metal components to restore full functionality and safety performance.
• Solve problems and develop innovative solutions to novel situations that require a fresh approach while still maintaining required standards of safety, stability, and security.
• Maintain tools and equipment to a professional standard. Keep workstation clean and orderly to retain a safe and operational work environment.
• Coordinate workflow with other members of the team and third-party agents.
• Execute welds in a professional manner, examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Work independently or with a small team of other welders to complete large and complex projects. Manage workflow, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot problems daily, in addition to fabrication duties.
• Employ physical strength and endurance to complete all welding tasks.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1-3 years of welding experience
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to read and interpret prints and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Eye for quality standards and strong attention to detail
• Strong work ethic and personal core values
