Job description
We are seeking a Sr. Network Engineer under our State of Florida contract. This person will serve as an escalation point for the Network and Voice teams providing support to the department and its customers. You will work in a collaborative environment with other developers, designers, testers, and project managers and be expected to complete deliverables on time and within budget. This is a six-month contract-hire opportunity. 

Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day involvement in network design, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Provide input in problem-solving by using technical, time management, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Display a high degree of inquisitiveness and an eagerness to learn at a detailed and abstract level.
• Highly self-motivated and organized, with a strong business sense to capture and fulfill the business requirements for all products and articulate in an architecture model.
• Work independently on small projects.
• Strong customer service dedication: soft skills to interact with both internal and external customers.
• Provide training on updated processes, procedures, or related items including technical skills.
• Take directives from management and perform tasks efficiently.
• Strong passion and thirst to keep up with new industry trends and standards.
• Lead, direct others, and serve as team lead on projects.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to operate as a Senior/Advanced Network Engineer with strong Cisco routing and switching knowledge.
• Experience troubleshooting complex multi-vendor Network and VoIP issues in the LAN, MAN, and WAN environments.
• Must be familiar with enterprise network routing architectures using protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and static routes.
• Must be experienced overseeing and performing hardware and software installations, upgrades, and maintenance of network components as directed, primarily with Cisco IOS devices.
• Must be able to acquire, within 90 days, and maintain the appropriate level of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification which corresponds to the job responsibilities.
• Experience working closely with Enterprise Architects to assist with the design of infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements.
• Experience with network monitoring tools efficiently (i.e., SolarWinds, ISE, Cisco Prime, Path Solutions, etc.).
• Experience with on-premise Cisco Unified Collaboration applications and equipment such as Cisco Unified Communication Mgr., Cisco Unity Connections, Cisco Contact Center Express, and Voice Gateways is a plus.
• Experience working in a government organization is a plus.
• CCNP Routing and Switching or higher is preferred.
• Prepare detailed specifications and technical design documents.
• Ensures business continuity of data transport systems.
• Help identify and resolve gaps between requirements and technical design.
• Demonstrate ability to quickly grasp new ideas and concepts.
• Work closely with customers and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions.
• Ensure that solutions are aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization's architectural standards.
• Provides guidance and work leadership to less experienced infrastructure team members and may have team lead responsibility.
