Marketing Project Manager (Global Communications)

Purpose and Scope of Job:

  • This role is not just about Organizing and Planning, but also Strategizing, Leading, Directing and Doing.
  • An ideal candidate for this role will have a global perspective on business and people, and will provide input and communication on decisions being made. They will possess cutting-edge knowledge of the best applications and platforms for managing projects, and offer innovative ideas in changing the way we do business and storing knowledge for easy access to content from multiple regions around the globe.
  • This candidate will have strong knowledge and ability to implement Best Practices and requisite processes for a global team to easily learn how to use those new systems.
  • This person needs to be a provocative change-agent for Digital Transformation, demonstrating patience with a soft touch, including an honest and open spirit of global communication and collaboration with colleagues whose first language is not English; and whose personal and business cultures are different (in varying ways) from traditional western culture.
  • This role is responsible for the day-to-day guidance to both internal regional marketing communication managers and external vendors (developers and service providers), responsible for scope, timeline and (to co-manage budget) and makes decisions with long-term branding and financial implications.
  • Serve and lead regional marketing communication managers as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) around the integration of multiple projects with various traditional and digital marketing communication channels and tactics.
  • Assist the Manager in governing the regional development of comprehensive and integrated marketing communications (advertising) campaigns and projects.
  • Lead in governance of key processes aimed at internal and external stakeholders - to help increase regional efficiency and overall online market awareness, customer engagement, and customer advocacy, with the ultimate goal of increased business for each region within our global network.
  • This function will report directly to the Global Marketing Communications Manager (located in Chesapeake, VA), who then reports directly to PTC HQ in Tokyo.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

  • Manage day-to-day operations around our multi-year Re-Branding Project and related meetings, knowledge management, correspondence; as well as, surveys, vendor relations, vendor meetings and budgetary tracking; including content translations.
  • Investigate, collaborate, develop, train and guide team on new ways of communicating, sharing & storing knowledge; relating to team collaboration and major branding and website projects.
  • Project Manage (PM) with responsibility for scope, timeline and budget; making decisions with long-term financial and branding implications.
  • Develop, propose, administer, guide and support on all global branding and digital marketing efforts.
  • Help create, maintain and govern global processes and content, both on newly established platforms and/or existing platforms, such as: Confluence (Wiki), JIRA, Office365, Slack, etc.
  • Develop and execute proactive processes for the auditing, overseeing and upgrading of systems and platforms on short and long-term periodic basis, such as our global DAM (Digital Asset Management system via EMBridge).
  • Also coordinate with vendors who support development and infrastructure of the global branding and website development/hosting, including translations.
  • Create and present global guidance and advising of “best practices” for each region’s geographic market needs and requirements; using PowerPoint (via in-person meetings, WebEx, Skype, etc.)
  • Assist in general global marketing and communication planning, coordinating, executing and reporting activities alongside Global Marketing Communication Manager.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Global Marketing Communication Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • PMP License not required, but is a plus.
  • 5-10 years of experience is preferred.
  • Ad Agency or Marketing experience a plus.
  • B2B and Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Diverse global experience a huge plus.
  • Experience with various traditional digital marketing disciplines, including web marketing.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Digital Transformation platforms, that bring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Able to develop and implement workflow process for a matrix organization with multiple global partners and stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with various 3rd party vendor, supplier, partners.
  • Good analytical, project management and decision making skills
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills (both written, oral and power point presentations) to colleagues outside of the US with limited English written/speaking fluency skills.
  • Creativity, positive attitude, teamwork and strong attention to detail required.
  • High proficiency in MS Office suite required.
  • Experience and proficiency in Office365 a very huge plus.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required, multilingual skills are preferred.
