Eklego is proud to be leading the Executive Director search for Luthercare Spang Crest in Lebanon, PA! Spang Crest offers Skilled Nursing Care, Rehabilitation, and Memory Support Personal Care. This Licensed Nursing Home Administrator will oversee the daily operations of the Spang Crest campus. This position directs the day-to-day functions of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long term care facilities to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to their residents at all times.

The primary responsibilities are:

  • Manages and directs the provision of services in personal care, and skilled nursing areas to establish/maintain an environment and program conducive to a high quality of life.
  • Works closely with resident review committee to ensure residents live in the appropriate environment conducive to the highest level of function.
  • Oversees the general care and services of residents and provides project management for the maintenance, repair, safety, and restoration of the property.
  • Plans, develops, and executes the financial budget, working with the skilled nursing/healthcare
  • Administrator, personal care administrator and the finance department. Maintains financial accountabilities for all expenses.
  • Promotes effective relations with families, volunteers, churches, and the general community. Represents Luthercare at community functions/professional meetings and advocates community interactions to improve programs.
  • Completes periodic and unscheduled rounds of the entire property to inspect operations and programs, visit residents/families, confer with staff to determine needs/requirements, and resolve operating problems in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a high awareness and appropriate planning for compliance, quality assurance & performance improvement, safety and emergency preparedness programs and procedures.
  • Works closely with the marketing department to maintain occupancy consistent with budgetary projections and establishes good working relationships within the community with residents' families, residents, referral sources, and the surrounding community.
  • Participates with resident council and regularly communicates the ongoing activities and addresses campus issues in a constructive manner.
  • Interviews and selects applicants for direct reports of continuing care retirement positions. Manages and documents any performance issues with direct reports which may/may not lead to disciplinary action/termination. Performs annual employment appraisals for subordinates and maintains employment files accordingly.
  • Actively participates in employee engagement/retention initiative for all team members of area of responsibility.
  • Provides Nursing Home Administrator coverage as assigned.


  • A Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration or related field required
  • A Master's degree in Health Care Administration or related Field preferred
  • Must have a minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or long-term care facility
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered Pennsylvania Nursing Home Administrator's (NHA) license.
