Job Description


To maintain the financial records of the Health Center in a timely and accurate manner including cash management, account analysis, posting and monitor journal entries, and execution of special projects. Serve as a Team Leader and mentor to Staff Accountants.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Enter and post journal entries into designated accounting database.
  • Cash management - Enter daily cash receipts and disbursements to spreadsheet and monitor offsite cash.
  • Bill all grants, contracts, and venders accordingly.

Additional Job Functions:

  • Assists Staff Accountants with training and processing accounts payable and receivable. Process AP/AR when necessary.
  • Perform monthly analysis of General Ledger (G/L) accounts.
  • Maintain prepaid asset schedule, and fixed asset schedule.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of year-end audit work papers.
  • Participate in the annual renewal of insurance policies.
  • Prepare summary of payroll, petty cash, and sick and vacation accrual balances for posting to the general ledger.
  • Participate in the formulation and evaluation of applicable protocols and procedures.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of year-end audit work papers.
  • Conduct annual fixed asset inventory.
  • Perform other duties and work assignments as assigned by the supervisor including attendance of requested department, center, and outside meetings and/or trainings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5-years experience working with spreadsheets, databases, or accounting software
  • Minimum 5-years accounting experience
