Sales Associate

Job Description:

The Sales Associate is directly responsible for increasing revenue and surplus for Criterion Online Writing Evaluation service in the educational market. The role helps to develop and execute key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans required to achieve financial targets.  The Sales Manager networks with key business decision makers, manages client relationships and provides client support. This role works closely with functional partners such as Research, IT, Marketing, Legal, Finance and New Product Development to support sales and advance product/client development. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining a client base and ensuring effective resolution of client needs/wants.

Business Development

Meet or exceed revenue and surplus targets for the Criterion service (related to automated scoring) in the K12, Higher Ed and Global market

Analyze market, industry and customers to identify sales opportunities and issues and prepare concrete plans and campaigns, strategic and tactical, to address such issues and realize opportunities. 

Actively qualifies new business and moves them through the sales process including closing sales

Plan, create and execute effective presentations including demonstrations of the Criterion service

Maintain database of opportunities, client contacts and contact history

Monitor competitive activity and develop new ways to increase revenue

Execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base

Client Relationship Management

Maintain, cultivate and grow institutional clients and business partnerships

Gather and analyze customer needs and interests

Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations.

Establish relationships with appropriate staff to ensure support of new business opportunities

Financial Management

Responsible for P&L including revenue and expense management

Contributes to divisional surplus

Provides pipeline sales reports to management and Finance
