The AI Research Lab focuses on the research and development of user-centered prototypes built on a foundation of learning and cognitive science principles that leverage interactive task design, machine learning, and data sciences to be integrated into various teaching, learning, and assessment solutions.

The ETS AI Research Lab is seeking a Research Operations Manager. This manager will be responsible for creating and implementing efficient processes that allow our researchers to do their best work. Using a variety of organizational and interpersonal skills, this role's primary responsibility is to ensure that research studies have the appropriate resources and experience minimal blockers.


  • Manage a small team of research coordinators + Recruit and maintain a qualified and diverse pool of research participants by implementing effective recruitment and outreach plans + Support researchers in identifying the most qualified research participants for specific studies + Work with internal and external resources to meet research needs + Anticipate and remove any blockers to research

Required Experience:

Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred

Relevant Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience leading a team + Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance + Successful track record in a fast-paced and dynamic environment + Experience working with finance, procurement teams, and external vendors + Experience using effective outreach strategies to recruit research participants + Excellent organization skills and demonstrated ability to accurately complete detailed work + Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment + Experience with international participant recruitment is a plus
