Job Description

Edovate Learning Corp. is seeking a Chief Operating Officer. Edovate Learning Corp, the parent company of Curriculum Express, Elephango and Bridgeway Academy, is an educational support company that provides curriculum, companion lessons, instructor-led and live online learning and much more! The Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees Edovate's ongoing operations and procedures and serves as executive sponsor for the HR department. As a key member of the senior management team, the COO reports directly to the President/CEO and establishes policies that promote company culture and vision through its operations. The COO is responsible for the execution of operational objectives as well as the efficiency of the business, which includes maintaining control of diverse business operations and establishing and following a set of policies and processes. Key to the role is ensuring strong operational decisions, efficiencies, purchasing and receiving processes and accuracy in fulfillment for Curriculum Express.

By setting comprehensive goals for performance and growth, the Chief Operating Officer leads employees and encourages maximum performance and dedication. S(he) is responsible to evaluate operational impacts across all departments for all strategic goals. The COO role requires an individual with proven success in execution and implementation of company goals and objectives as well as high level data analysis. The COO must maintain the highest level of integrity and lead by example in all areas.

High Level Responsibilities

The COO will be challenged to:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management.
  • Optimize the company's operating capabilities to surpass customer satisfaction and retention, and company goals.
  • Spearhead strategies to steer the company's future in a positive direction.
  • Drive the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
  • Control company costs, and introduce tactical initiatives to address purchasing issues, back orders and other losses.
  • Employ strategies to ensure appropriate stock levels and resource allocation to meet market demand.
  • Monitor invoices, money handling procedures, accounting, and bank processes.
  • Employing various initiatives to coach employees to optimize their capabilities.
  • Assesses and implements improved processes and new technologies, and collaborates with management regarding the implementation of these improvements.
  • Assists in compiling the company's budget.
  • Compiles financial reports, and controls financial policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with the leadership team to implement business strategies and develops and implements plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, policies, processes, and staff.

  • High-level understanding of all business functions such as WH operations, IT, HR, Finance, Marketing, etc
  • Aptitude in sound decision-making and problem-solving in pressure situations

Chief Operating Officer Requirements and Qualifications

  • BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
  • Proven experience as Chief Operating Office or a similar relevant role
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Understanding of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
