Position Overview:            


This position will support the sales and project origination process for the Energy Optimization business unit, with a special focus on Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and other large value energy related capital improvements. The employee will provide sales origination support to a team focused on the turn-key installation of microgrid applications, Combined Heat and Power (CHP), fuel cells, energy storage, EV charging, fleet electrification, and solar PV (community and commercial), as well as other energy management capital solutions.  


The employee shall originate projects through direct customer relationships, strategic channel partnerships and industry relationships.  This is a client-facing role which requires travel and superb interpersonal skills through all forms of communication both in-person and written.  Experience with presenting to C-suite, and facility level audience is a must.   



Job Duties and Responsibilities:          


  • Identifies opportunities via internal and external channels and manages incoming leads  
  • Sells DER or energy project solutions into the C-Suite of Fortune 500 companies, and health-care environments.  
  • Screens and qualifies potential project opportunities in a collaborative approach with the EO team; participates in a “go/no-go” process to evaluate project viability  
  • Collaborates with internal SMEs including engineering, finance, legal to ensure successful origination and sales.  
  • Works with marketing to prepare consistent quality focused presentations, proposals, and follow up as needed  
  • Assists in negotiating term sheets to secure and close projects  
  • Has an awareness of available market incentives and applicable policy as they apply to DER solutions  
  • Leverages awareness of broader, more comprehensive energy management solutions which will result in optimization for facilities – prior to incorporating DER solutions.  
  • Performs other job-related duties as required including managing own CRM account   
  • Consistently meet sales bookings and profitability goals  
  • Effectively develop and articulate value propositions of offerings to clients  
  • Participate in industry organizations  
  • Communicate the status of opportunities with the EO team and sales and marketing leadership on a weekly basis  



  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Experience 5+ years in business development in energy and utilities sector  
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening skills with clients and team members, to effectively craft unique solutions for
