ORGANIZATION
Paul Robeson Charter School (PRCS) is a free, lottery-based, open-enrollment charter school serving students across Trenton in grades 3-8. The mission of Paul Robeson CS is to provide a personalized education that challenges, inspires, and prepares students to passionately pursue their dreams and lead a life of active civic engagement. PRCS inspires and equips every student to lead a life of achievement, service, and success. Our structured and nurturing community, comprehensive programming, and rigorous academic curriculum are designed to build self-motivated citizens, eager learners, and strong leaders - regardless of circumstance.

OPPORTUNITY
PRCS seeks a passionate and hardworking Director of School Operations to join the PRCS family for the 2023-24 school year! The Director of School Operations will play a vital role in the daily operations of the PRCS 3rd - 8th-grade school AND will manage the establishment of PRCS's new K-2 building. The qualified candidate will be a member of the school leadership team and will lead the operations team, including front office operations, facilities, and food services. The person in this role should expect to establish and implement robust processes and systems to continue and improve building efficiencies and daily operations. They will also oversee all school information systems related to enrollment, attendance, and the student information database. Additionally, the Director of School Operations will be on the team that opens PRCS's expansion location - a new construction school that will allow PRSC to move to a brand new building in Fall 2024, expand down to K-2 and offer 235 additional students the opportunity to join the PRSC community.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities of the Director of School Operations include:
- Manages the operations team and ensures that the main office is running smoothly;
- Tracks student attendance in coordination with the truancy officer;
- Oversees student transportation services;
- Leads student recruitment efforts and manages the enrollment management system;
- Coordinates with IT to ensure proper technology is in place for all staff and students;
- Act as School Safety Manager (follow state compliance and reporting procedures);
- Manages the school website and social media;
- Oversees food operations.
PRIORITIES
A successful first year in this role for the new Director of School Operations will include the following:
- Manage the Operations team to execute an operational vision
- Successfully transition current staff, students, and families to the new building for the start of the 2024 school year
- Transparent systems of communication that demonstrate an understanding of the impact of operations on the school community
- Manage to excellence multiple projects with competing priorities
- Evaluate and, when needed, develop operational systems that will increase efficiency and be implemented with fidelity by the school community.
Requirements
To fulfill these responsibilities, the ideal Director of School Operations candidate will be:
- Background in school operations is highly preferred;
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Previous teaching experience preferred;
- Ability to speak Spanish preferred;
- Strong communication skills;
- Proactive and robust problem-solving skills;
- Excited and eager to work in a face-paced environment;
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail;
- Experience managing others;
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- Experience with PowerSchool is preferred
