Job Description:

The Digital Marketing Manager (DMM) is primarily responsible for the creation and implementation of a comprehensive strategy to engage online audiences including employees, clients and residents. The digital strategy and management includes portfolio-wide and corporate-level content, as well as responses to resident, prospect, client, and employee comments and reviews in social media/online reputation channels: Yelp, GMB,,, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and any others that may impact our business. This may be accomplished both reactively and proactively; within an authentic brand voice to cultivate loyal customers and amplify our on-line advocates and followers.

The position requires the enthusiasm to research and experiment with current and developing trends and platforms in order to differentiate Edgewood and Vantage brands from other branded properties. The DMM will consistently identify and manage partners and opportunities to fiscally optimize the online campaigns.

Additionally, the DMM will collaborate with the SVP of Marketing and Regional Marketing Team to deliver online marketing campaigns and high-priority projects that help to maintain and/or improve occupancy and rental income across all portfolios.

Essential Duties:

The duties below provide a general guideline for the Digital Marketing Manager (DMM) position and do not constitute all tasks or initiatives expected of the role. There may be other duties assigned to the DMM by his/her supervisor to effectively manage the marketing projects. This position may include up to 10% travel to properties, vendors, and events.
  • Create custom and original content that includes a wide spectrum of creative copy, images and video for online audiences and customers in order to drive long-term engagement and loyalty. Target response time is 24 hours, and when necessary elevate issues as necessary to VP level operations and Director of Marketing.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing and operations team to set, track and analyze reputation/social media goals and successes on each platform for measurable and positive impact. Ensure teams are engaging and optimizing the Strive-for-Five effort through communications and training.
  • Provide quarterly analysis, strategy, best practices and innovation for all defined reputation and social platforms.
  • Partner with marketing and operations to implement creative marketing and advertising strategies and solutions that adhere to budgeted guidelines, including the use of online advertising, corporate and property websites, SEO/SEM, social media, referrals, email marketing, and other tactics, and appropriately select marketing techniques that fit the property's desired resident profile and market conditions.
  • Maintain and update web content for property websites, internet listings, including copy, video, and photography. Monitors monthly and quarterly results.
  • Supports the development of creative communication pieces, promotional materials, presentations, websites, reports and training materials.
  • Attends and participates in making presentations to owners/clients by preparing proposed online marketing plans and developing/delivering reports and analysis that support the property's marketing recommendations and plans. Make recommendations to clients and other stakeholders as necessary after due diligence and research is complete and approved by lead stakeholder.
  • Collaborates and shares best practices with marketing team, supports corporate events and initiatives, and is a brand leader and ambassador within the Edgewood and Vantage organizations.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the multifamily housing industry with a focus on sales, marketing, and online trends preferred; however, candidates with relevant digital marketing experience in other sales and customer service focused industries including hospitality, real estate, and B2C are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience handling marketing responsibilities for multiple portfolios or multiple communities.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with or general knowledge of social media campaigns to include: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+, Blogs,, and the like.
  • Experience in co-leading vendors partners to help meet marketing objectives including ad agencies, ILS', influencers and other digital partners.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills including a capacity to effectively present to a variety of audiences, summarize reporting and make solid recommendations to optimize marketing campaigns.
  • Creative and innovative, must be able to set and maintain high standards.
  • Proactive, takes initiative, works independently, strong listening skills and can take and give constructive criticism.
  • Ability to multi-task in an environment of shifting deadlines.
  • Self-starter with strong time management skills who excels at working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • High integrity, ability to communicate articulately and concisely, strong interpersonal and partnership skills, achievement drive, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Proficient with Property Management software, CRM, Google Ad Words, MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, Hootsuite, Canva, Venngage, Flipbook, SurveyMonkey, reputation monitoring software, website design software, MailChimp social media channel optimization.
  • BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or equivalent field.
