IT Project Manager Type 1
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of small to medium scale and complex technology projects to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame, funding parameters and requirements. Executes the project plans and activities following project management best practices ensuring quality and integrity of the information throughout the entire life cycle of the project.
Manage Project costs and profitability
Understands project budget requirements
Understands the plans and schedules project timelines
Tracks project deliverables using appropriate tools.
Ensure that the project team meets annual profitability goals.
Communicate project information to stakeholders
Validate work plan, duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority with management
Provide advice to management
Lead project-related meetings
Lead, coach and motivate project team members
Plan and organize projects
Understand scope and objectives of the project
Establish project governance
Determine time frame, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing project
Determine staffing requirements, and allotment of available department resources to various phases of the project
Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks
Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule, within budget and to expected quality and scope
Prepare reports for management, clients and others
Manage customer’s expectations
Coordinate and respond to requests for changes from original specifications
Coordinate project activities with activities of business unit(s)
Establish and lead go-live command centers
Work with individual vendor partners and internal stakeholders to ensure timelines are realistic, and requirements are understood
Participates in facilitating the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables of routine projects
Participates in developing project tasks and resource requirements
Participates in developing full-scale project plans
Provides knowledge and direction to less experienced staff
Perform project team member performance evaluations.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or working towards PMP certification
Bachelor’s degree related to position
Competence in product knowledge, relationship building, professionalism and personal excellence, leadership, people focus, and business development
Attributes of presence, articulation, confidence, and persuasiveness.
Develops more junior project management staff by mentoring and training
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Internal process knowledge (RSL, Change management, change request).
Advanced level analytical judgment
Customer Service Champion
Self-motivated
Ability to speak in groups, lead projects, and provide a dynamic leadership presence
Ability to work independently to meet objectives
Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
Working knowledge of ConnectWise and Microsoft Project
Direct work experience in a project management capacity
Proven experience in leading project teams
Proven experience in strategic planning
