Echostar has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Operations Manager - SLA Operations, Data Analytics, and QA in our Hughes Network Systems division.

Responsibilities:

Strategic & Operational Readiness:

  • Strategic Expertise: Execute strategic decisions for Aero Operational Teams, Technical Operations, and the Atlanta Maintenance Control Center (MCC).
  • Anticipating Growth: Prepare for increased operational demands with the addition of more Airline customers and the centralization of MCC functions.
  • Optimal Tool and System Design: Collaborate with Engineering and Development teams to shape tools and systems aligned with operational needs.
  • Resource Development: Lead in training and resource development to strengthen the operational team.
  • Efficiency and Cost Savings: Define automation requirements for organizational efficiency, resulting in cost savings.
  • Liaison with Key Teams: Bridge communication between Engineering, Development, and PMO for collaboration and alignment.
  • Operational Preparedness: Leverage hands-on operational experience to understand and meet operational needs.


SLA Management:
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Development for the design, cross-functional requirements, and rollout of required Dashboards and Reporting.
  • Oversee end-to-end customer SLA management processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Regularly review and update SLAs to meet evolving business and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure SLA targets are clearly defined and consistently met.

Quality Assurance:
  • Collaborate with broader Quality Organization to support Aer/Mobility requirements
  • Monitor and evaluate service quality within Technical Operations, conducting regular audits.
  • Ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
  • Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions.

Data Analytics:
  • Compile and analyze performance data, SLA metrics, and customer feedback for strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the Data Analytics team in integrating data from diverse Technical Operations sources, including hands-on support of near-term logistics dashboard and reporting.
  • Utilize statistical methods, predictive analytics, and machine learning for impactful data analysis.
  • Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, reports, and dashboards for insightful presentations.
  • Monitor Technical Operations performance metrics and SLA compliance, generating reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborate across teams to identify trends and areas for continual improvement in Technical Operations.

Proactive Maintenance Planning:
  • Utilize historical data and predictive analytics for proactive maintenance planning.

Root Cause Analysis and Process Improvement:
  • Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with teams for continuous process improvement.

Predictive Maintenance and Reliability Analysis:
  • Develop predictive maintenance models and assess the reliability of aircraft components and systems.

Operational Requirements Definition:
  • Liaison with Engineering, Development, and PMO on system and tool requirements to support Technical Operations and MCC Support.

Technical Expertise:
  • Satellite Communications systems experience (GEO, MEO, LEO), as a service provider.
  • Aviation software and hardware experience in installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Network Operations background with major service provider experience.
  • OEM logistical knowledge to be learned throughout the FAA regulated environment.

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or combination of education and experience
  • Operations Management experience.
  • 10+ years of Technical and Network Operations experience.

Preferred Qualification:
  • Degree in Aviation Management, Data Analytics, or related areas.
  • PMP Certification, while not mandatory, having a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is desirable.
  • Deep knowledge of defining requirements and working in an Agile development environment

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
