We are looking for a bright candidate with excellent verbal/written communication skills, exceptional customer service skills, be professional, well organized, able to multi-task, and be detail oriented. A self motivated individual who is a team player will easily succeed here.
A Certified Ophthalmic Assistant is preferred. However, we would consider training someone who is willing to learn and who has a basic understanding of medical history taking. Someone who has experience in an eye doctor's office with pretesting skills and medical history taking would have an advantage,
Responsibilities and Duties:
Your main duties will be developing a patient rapport, taking patient histories, performing pre-testing with auto-refraction, tonometry, measuring visual acuity on an eye chart, diagnostic testing (visual fields, topography, fundus photos, OCT, pachymetry, ERG/VEP, tearlab), and other related eye testing.
Someone who is good with computers and technology will find the new skills easy to learn. We have state of the art equipment and many of our systems are technology dependent.
Certified Ophthalmic Assistants are preferred.
Qualifications and Skills:
Ophthalmology/Optometry experience and bilingual skills are highly preferred. Must have 1 year medial office experience and have experience with medical and vision insurance plans.
However, a good communicator with attention to detail who is comfortable with technology and wants to learn will also succeed here.
