Subject Matter Expert - Aerospace Engineering & Business Development

ES3 is a socially responsible, high-end engineering firm specializing in (1) the design, test, and fabrication of aircraft components and systems, (2) the repair and overhaul of large aircraft structural components, (3) development of advanced high strength and corrosion resistant coatings, and (4) the application of computational methods for structural dynamic modeling. ES3 has facilities in California, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Utah.

General Summary:

ES3 offers a part time consulting position for a highly experienced individual with documented professional knowledge of military, industry, and aerospace company design, manufacturing, testing, overhaul and fleet support requirements for aerospace engineering. As a subject matter expert, this individual will administer expertise and guidance toward the following:
  • Development of reverse engineering and digital modeling
  • Development of additive manufacturing for aerospace components
  • Development of model-based product lifecycle management
  • Development of environmentally friendly coating solutions

In relation to business development activities, this individual will administer expertise and guidance toward the following:
  • Assistance and coordination of technology transfer of ES3 current and future aerospace sustainment innovations into the Air Force and other Department of Defense (DoD) potential customers.
  • Pursue opportunities for ES3 to leverage the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program for additional technology transfer.
  • Developing requirements and budget for engineering projects in support of the Air Force and other DoD organizations


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) expertise for development and implementation of ES3 aerospace applications for technology transfer into the Air Force.
  • Provide business development coordination and guidance associated with technology transfer and commercialization of ES3 innovative aerospace solutions into the Air Force and other DoD potential customers.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Provide demonstrated expertise in support of following topics:
  • Technology Transfer and Phase III SBIR contracting
  • Propulsion Component Repair, Sustainment and Management
  • Reverse Engineering and Modeling
  • Additive Manufacturing Applications
  • SBIR Program Expertise and Proposal Development

Education & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in aerospace engineering
  • 30 or more years of experience in military and/or commercial industry developing design, manufacturing, testing, overhaul and fleet support requirements for aerospace engineering

Additional Requirements:
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Contractor Access Card (CAC)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Security clearance as required

Travel Requirements:
  • Ability to travel as necessary if required
