Job Overview

Provides strategic direction to manage the IT function of the hotel including budget, planning, hiring, leadership and effective operation of the department. Responsible for analyzing and reporting on the technological performance of the hotel, and for collaborating with all property leaders to maintain effective systems.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develops and executes the IT strategy to effectively optimize all aspects of hotel systems and controls, working closely with all hotel departments in this regard.

• Identifies and remediates all technology security risks.

• Manages department budget and ensures all targets and line items are met. Notifies the Director of Finance of any discrepancies or deviations.

• Develops and oversees metrics for hardware, software and storage.

• Determines business requirements for IT systems.

• Directs and supports the implementation of new hardware and software.

• Coordinates IT activities to ensure systems and data are available with minimal downtime.

• Hires, trains and manages the performance of all direct reports.

• Develops, solicits, maintains and nurtures all key business contacts.

• Implements protocols for effective communication and understanding of the IT function throughout the hotel, including operational protocols.

• Develops and implements all audit processes relative to IT controls.

• Attends all leadership meetings, ensuring the function is well represented at all times.

• Complies with all Work Rules, Safety Standards and Standards of Conduct as set forth in the Employee Handbook.

• Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to desktop laptops, printers, mobile, Office 365, MAC OSX, JAMF, general software/hardware installation and all business and guest-facing applications.

• Demonstrated expertise in IT support in hospitality environments. (PMS, POS,CRS Etc.)

• Experience building, maintaining and supporting Microsoft technologies and related platforms (Azure, Active Directory, SSO, MS Windows Server/Systems, SharePoint, PowerShell, O365, etc.).

• May be assigned other duties at the discretion of management.

1. Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers, and management to their understanding.

2. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.

3. Ability to think quickly and act appropriately in emergency situations.

4. Perform well under pressure situations, time demands, and work overtime when needed.

5. Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.

6. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.

7. Hotel or building maintenance experience preferred.

8. Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment.

9. Skill in the use of related tools (including hand and electric tools).

10. General computer knowledge and ability to enter work orders, make notes, etc. or related system.

11. Ability to work flexible schedule (AM, PM, Overnight, Weekends & Holidays).


1. Knowledge of proper equipment usage and repair.

2. Bachelors Degree or equivalent vocational training.

3. AED & CPR Certification

4. Five years experience in a similar role

Essential Physical Abilities:

• Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.

• Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, lift, push or pull heavy loads, and lift and/or carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 75 lbs. occasionally.

• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).

• May need to move large or heavy equipment, requiring bending or kneel to access fixtures.

• May need to stand while making repairs, manning equipment, etc.

• Must be able to work, indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, and wet conditions.

• Must be able to observe the physical environment and respond to emergency situations.

• Must be able to read reports, procedural manuals and operate life safety equipment.
