AESC is headquartered in Japan and has battery manufacturing locations in Japan, UK and the U.S. We are currently seeking candidates to fill an Analyst 1 Finance, (Accounts Payable) role to support our Smyrna, TN facility.

Job Summary

As Analyst 1 Finance, (AP), you will handle Accounts Payable and Invoicing, tracking Duty and Tariff costs and reporting labor and overhead costs and headcount to the shop floor. This role is accountable for various analysis, financial reporting, and month-end journal entries and account reconciliations following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Job Functions

Accounts Payable:

• Manage Accounts Receivables to match payments against invoices.
• Publish a monthly AR open balance report with aging and days sales outstanding analytics.
• Follow-up with Customers on past due invoices.

Shop Floor Reporting:

• Publish weekly headcount and labor cost reporting to Managers.
• Publish weekly overtime report to Managers.
• Publish monthly labor and overhead financial results to Managers.

Logistics, Duty & Tariff Reporting:

• Track monthly costs for logistic, duty and tariff and compare to amounts budgeted/forecasted.
  1. Analyze and explain variances to budget/forecast.
• Itemize duty/tariff charge for each weekly entry into amount for duty and tariff.
  1. Track tariff by applicable classification and associated part number.

Month-end Close Support and Other Ad Hoc:

• Support month-end close process.
• Support year-end audit process
• Other Ad Hoc projects and reporting as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with basic knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to function without supervision; ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments; and high confidence in stating professional opinions. Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes.
• Strong analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Aptitude for effective and efficient utilization of computer technologies including Excel, Power Point, SAP, and data warehouse reporting applications.

Experience

Minimum of 3-7 years of Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline in Accounting or Finance required. MBA or CPA a plus.

Computer Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Access and other PC applications, or mainframe applications to produce standard and non-standard, creative products. Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
