Position Summary

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Participates in new product introduction from R&D to manufacturing as a key member responsible for the transfer of design, implementation of manufacturing processes and controls, and appropriate documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

• Develops and implements methods, programs and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or production equipment.

• Evaluates manufacturing and inspection processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators and QC. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

• Increases manufacturing effectiveness by installing capable processes and equipment and continues to improve their capability to produce quality parts at required output.

• Reviews workstations and manual tasks to identify adverse ergonomic practices and installs improvements to achieve the reduction of fatigue, errors or unsafe acts.

• Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

• Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

• Uses problem?solving techniques to determine root cause, countermeasures, permanent corrective and preventative actions.

• Participates cross functionally and across business units to support the Quality Management System, standardizes quality system policies and procedures, and promotes adherence to the policies and procedures.

• Trains employees to follow new processes and procedures.

• Stays abreast of appropriate or emerging technologies and drives development and implementation of best practices that help achieve company objectives.


Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering or related field from four?year college or university and at least five

(5) years of experience.

• Knowledge of common Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Quality Engineer

• Six Sigma Certification or training

• Lean Certification or training

• ISO 9000 and ISO 13485 Quality Management Experience

• FDA cGMP Experience, Medical Device Experience a plus
