Senior SAP FICO Business Systems Analyst

Our client based in Baton Rouge, LA is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst with expert knowledge in configuring and supporting SAP FICO (Finance and Controlling). This is a techno-functional role requiring the individual to effectively communicate with internal and external business stakeholders and work with the systems backend. The right candidate will have experience with manufacturing. This position is onsite in Baton Rouge, LA. The client offers relocation assistance.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates and maintains expert knowledge/leadership in configuring and supporting SAP in the areas of Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) to conform to evolving business practices.
  • Serves as a lead business partner and an advocate to strategically drive success by building a strong rapport with business leaders, proactively employing big picture thinking, seeking out challenges/opportunities common in the Client industry, and recommending the top priorities based on deliverables that will ultimately contribute to the financial growth of the company
  • Exhibits a thorough understanding of finance and controlling processes, concepts and SAP best practice, which includes but is not limited to General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Asset Accounting (AA), Special Purpose Ledger (SL), Controlling Areas (CO), Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA) and Materials Management (MM) which includes managing special stocks such as third party subcontracting.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of the techniques necessary to facilitate highly collaborative requirements gathering sessions that will effectively align stakeholders and subject matter experts within a cross-functional team
  • Performs complex research by gathering data from a variety of sources, which may include operational data, metrics, competitor information, and feedback from business partners.
  • Drives to consistently construct the necessary documentation to adequately capture business requirements and functional specifications ensuring that business system implementations achieve the end result with minimal disruption and unanticipated rework
  • Takes initiative to develop and present business case justifications that include feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis that supports solid decision making to drive the overall departmental direction and strategy
  • Provides leadership in recommending and guiding appropriate change management activities i.e. process education, Q&A testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrates and maintains expert knowledge/leadership and serves as an example and motivator for peers by embracing continuous learning opportunities
  • Formulates cross-functional teams to tackle complex challenges within the organization that span multiple business domains.
  • Works seamlessly with the PMO to document and help drive the tasks required to complete projects in the area of expertise and shares developmental milestones that can be included in the summary of projects to executives
  • Supports PMO methodologies and leads the creation and maintenance of project scope/objectives through requirements gathering, goal prioritization, planning, scheduling, identification of risks, and contingency plans.
  • May serve as a project manager on small to large scale projects
  • Leverages extensive knowledge to mentor peers and provide solid guidance based on past experiences

Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst or closely related discipline.
  • Experience configuring the SAP FICO module with a thorough understanding of the integration required with other relevant areas/modules in SAP such as MM, SD and PP.
  • Must have working experience with SAP ECC 6.0
  • Experience completing at least one full SAP system life cycle implementation
  • Experience with manufacturing
  • COPA experience
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have expert knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products, Visio or similar process management tools, Project Management software and Enterprise level systems (such as SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of individuals across the company as well as external business partners. Must be able to partner with others effectively and have refined negotiation skills.
  • Broad project experience working on interdepartmental initiatives that benefit the entire Company (vs a specific business unit)
  • Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree or an Associate's Degree with 2 additional years of Business Analyst work experience or related discipline. Master's degree preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of education
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and high level of accountability.
  • Demonstrated advanced business aptitude.
  • Effectively influences others and accepts constructive feedback
