The IT Field Technician performs the maintenance and enhancement of EDEN security/surveillance and information systems. The Field Technician designs, implements, improves and maintains digital and analog security systems across many locations. The Field Technician is also responsible for configuring and maintaining client and server systems, acting as primary end-user support, and creating documentation and advocating for process improvement.


    1. Establish new lines of cabling/wiring as part of digital security system infrastructure
    2. Maintain existing lines of cabling/wiring for digital and analog security system infrastructure
    3. Procure, maintain and support end user security peripherals - DVRs, NVRs, digital displays and interfaces, desktop/laptop hosts, printing/scanning peripherals
    4. Plan, design and implement digital security/surveillance architecture in complex environments
    5. Maintain server applications- research and implement patches, updates and new product rollouts.
    6. Serve as end-user support to answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation in a Microsoft Windows environment
    7. Monitor systems, and respond to faults, warnings, errors and security vulnerabilities
    8. Identify internal improvement and external business opportunities regarding building and access security
    9. Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, assets, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
    10. Develop training materials and procedures and train users in the proper use of hardware or software.


  • Experience with UTP, coax and fiber-optic wiring/cabling required
  • Experience with digital video recording hardware and software required
  • Experience with designing large-scale digital security projects preferred
  • Experience with customer service and end-user troubleshooting in a Windows environment preferred
  • A valid Ohio driver's license with good driving record and proof of insurance is required.
