Job Description

The Installer Technician is responsible for installing the hardware (Terminals, POS, etc.) on the client’s location and conduct full training on how to use the solution.

Project details:

  • 6 months to 1-year contract with the possibility of staying as a regular employee.
  • Full training (1 month approx.)
  • The company provides vehicles and tools.
  • Snack area
  • 12 days of sick
  • 15 of vacation (after 6 months)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Installation of POS equipment, switches, wireless access points, and Stands.
  • Installation may include network wiring (Cat 5 & Cat 6), software configuration, and network setup and troubleshoot.
  • Responsible for training end-users on how to properly use their equipment.
  • Excellent people skills and a neat appearance are required to properly train and assist end-users.
  • Make sure that all merchant’s needs are addressed, and all questions are answered.
  • Maintain records of completed work and update via electronic system.
  • You will be responsible for assessing and troubleshooting various issues that arise with network devices, POS Printers, Payment devices, and other IT devices.
  • Answer all inbound calls to support new and existing customers with processing issues.
  • Troubleshoot client’s issues remotely and onsite.
  • This position requires local travel and travel that will require an overnight stay.

  • Must have a patient and methodical approach.
  • Thorough knowledge of networking, standard pc hardware, Microsoft office suite, and other standard software.
  • Knowledge of credit card processing operations, technology, and equipment.
  • Excellent customer service experience and skills, detailed, organized, and able to multi-task. Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills both in Spanish and English
  • Quick, analytical, and creative thinking abilities
  • Flexible work hours IS A MUST for this position due to the traveling, troubleshooting, and work involved which cannot be pre-determined in terms of timeframe.
  • Week-end work rotations are also required and will be coordinated accordingly with other members to ensure efficient and appropriate coverage is provided to our customers.
  • Must be able to adapt and learn new skills in a fast-paced industry.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Technical Degree, Associate degree, or equivalent experience in a previous technical support role, IT, or with point-of-sale systems.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Valid driving license and a good driving record with the ability to make own travel arrangements.
  • Self-motivated, team player, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
  • Passion for technology and desire to solve problems.
  • Knowledge of POS (point of sale) industry hardware and software.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Understanding of business networks (wired and wireless) using multiple network technologies and consumer/business peripherals, such as switches, routers, modems, printers, etc.
  • Understanding of networking technologies TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls.
  • Understanding of internet connectivity using cable, DSL, satellite, dial-up.
