We seek a results-focused, innovative, customer-centric well-qualified individual to join our talented team as a Shipping/Receiving Specialist.
Based in our Torrington, Connecticut location, you will be expected to maintain the accuracy and integrity of raw goods inventory and finished goods by receiving and verifying the count the quality of all items received then, as needed, acting on discrepancies and quality issues. Requirements You will: * Ensure items shipping meet full compliance and international standards by rigorously following international and domestic HazMat, IATA, and freighting regulations and documentation * Verify and record all outgoing and incoming shipments by meticulously inspecting and accounting for the number and quality of items, then entering timely and accurate records into the companys ERP * Assess the efficiency and performance of dispatch and distribution activities by monitoring and identifying carrier performance against expectations, and by taking actions to effect change as needed * Ensure shipped items meet delivery deadlines, and customer and cost expectations by accurately completing carrier paperwork and bills of laden, managing pickup times and delivery means, and by comparing carriers costs to select the best shipping options * Meet department lines shipped on-time needs and metrics by order planning with the Production O&C group, and by establishing optimal receiving and shipping planning and scheduling practices * Maintain minimal damages and safe internal transportation practices by exceptional secure handling and operation of powerlifting equipment, power jacks, hand trucks, and company truck You should have: * High School diploma; associates degree preferred * IATA and HazMat certification * 5+ years of experience in handling, shipping, and receiving of hazardous materials * Excellent knowledge and experience working with ERPs; JD Edwards Enterprise-1 preferred * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Must be self-directed and operationally productive without constant supervision Benefits Dymax offers its employees attractive salaries, personal growth opportunities, and excellent benefits packages including: Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision), Retirement Plan (401K), Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntatry & AD&D).
