Reporting to the EVP – eCommerce, the Digital Marketing Manager for Online Retail (DMM) will coordinate all aspects of our online retail store(s) digital marketing initiatives for customer acquisition and retention strategies. These strategies will include email (via MailChimp and other e-contact programs), paid search, SEO/SEM, and social media. The position will be responsible for research and development of new online marketing strategies, and while working with the rest of our eComm team to design the format and features of the website(s) in order to maximize clarity and ease of navigation for customers.

The DMM will work closely with other members of the eComm leadership team (eCommerce Manager, Data Manager, and eCommerce Web Programmer) to build out our rapidly expanding portfolio of online retail stores. We are seeking a hands-on candidate to develop the creative and implement the marketing plans in conjunction with Regional VP’s. We seek self-sufficient candidates capable of building and growing a digital marketing team as part of our rapidly expanding eCommerce department. Successful candidates will have agency experience and/or extensive experience creating digital marketing materials for soft goods online retailers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute all digital marketing, utilizing a range of techniques including paid search, SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns.
  • Create, maintain, and implement digital marketing and editorial calendars and ensure website messaging is consistent with monthly and seasonal campaigns.
  • Design and build emails and manage marketing campaigns with Mailchimp.
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs).
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights.
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies.
  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and A/B conversion tests.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience.
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.
  • Instrument conversion points and optimize user funnels.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
  • Devise strategies to drive online traffic to the company’s online retail website(s).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on the social media strategy for online retail.
  • Manage online brand and product campaigns to raise brand awareness.
  • Improve the usability, design, content and conversion of the company’s eCommerce websites.
  • Responsible for the planning and budgetary control of digital marketing.
  • Evaluate customer research, market conditions and competitor data.
  • Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing.
  • Schedule sale banners, creating sale pages, promoting new content, creating discount codes using eCommerce platforms.
  • Work with eCommerce manager to ensure accounts are always promoting the correct content throughout the site, understanding which items should be featured and deserves high visibility.
  • Collaborate closely with RVP’s and other stakeholders for on-site promotions, creative, new products and features.
  • Work with clients to define the product strategy and marketing roadmap.
  • Maintain open communications with client leadership and advise or assist as necessary.
  • Work with UX teams to design compelling customer experience across channels: web, iOS and Android.
  • Execute projects under the direction of the EVP, including creating planning briefs, project timelines, and ensuring deliverables are provided that meet requirements.
  • Collaborate with product, sales, and customer service departments to support ecommerce activities.
  • Create sales on client websites including pricing, discounts, and content updates.
  • Support analytics requests.
  • Support SEO execution including page tiles and metas, H1 tags, keyword inclusion, and working with the marketing team.
  • Proactively contribute recommendations to improve operational efficiency and revenue-generating ecommerce activities.
  • Proactively identify website issues that would negatively impact the customer experience.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including timelines, scope, resource allocation, tracking and providing consistent and concise progress reports to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Actively participate in technical, strategic and creative development.
  • Create and/or capture imagery for products when needed.
