Position Summary:

The Head of Digital Strategy will help drive digital strategy, execution of digital operations, extension/enhancement of digital capabilities, and provide industry thought leadership in the digital learning space. This role is an experienced leader with a proven track record in leading digital transformation. As an established digital leader, you will have the skills to influence at every level, communicating your digital knowledge and skills in a constructive, empowering, and collaborative way. Working closely with our CEO and President, you will be the driving force behind our organization's digital transformation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive digital innovation and serve as a cross-functional change agent across the organization
  • Develop and execute digital strategy for the organization; Collaborate across the organization to develop and enhance digital design capabilities
  • Ensure that all relevant digital initiatives are fully integrated into the strategic planning process for leadership commitment, resource allocation and execution
  • Identify and develop an integrated ecosystem of providers and industry-specific technology partnerships to solve for a broader set of learning challenges, creating a seamless model that reflects our key differentiators around different learning modalities all while designing, developing, evaluating and implementing solutions
  • Responsible for driving fast-paced projects to deliver tangible short-term results while maintaining a long-term, strategic portfolio of learning innovation projects and systems
  • Collaborate with the Digital team, Regional Managing Directors and Leadership to share best practices and create roadmap for innovation
  • Collaborate with Client Teams to drive and support growth initiatives
  • Engage directly with key client senior stakeholders, forming trust-based relationships to solve digital and virtual learning needs
  • Present our digital point-of-view to clients and prospects in support of business development activities
  • Maintain knowledge of instructional technologies and latest training and development research by attending workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies; publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Measure ROI on digital projects, adjusting approaches and partners as needed to ensure the organization is leveraging the right tools, partners and resources
  • Develop new digital revenue streams through partnerships with clients and content aggregators alike
  • Lead the global team that directly serves the organization and clients digital needs
  • Head of Digital Strategy will lead the MyDukeCE platform and digital learning development team

  • Technical Skills
    • Fluent in a variety of e-learning platforms
    • Strong digital presence and comfort with social media/social networking strategies
    • Experience with authoring tools such as: Evolve, Captivate, Articulate Storyline/Rise
    • Strong knowledge of SCORM, JSON, xAPI
    • Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual reality (VR) experience
    • Expertise in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Sales Capability
    • Proven prospecting skills
    • Understands sales cycles
    • Displays closing skills
  • Project Management Skills
    • Able to set priorities, organize and manage multiple tasks independently
    • Proven success leading large-scale curriculum development initiatives
    • Ability to manage multiple projects that are complex in nature and broad in scope
    • Project management skills with the ability to document and communicate project plans, monitor work in progress and achieve project milestones/end results
    • Meets deadlines
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Able to effectively communicate and build rapport with senior executives
    • Able to establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors and stakeholders
    • Demonstrated history of leading teams in evolving and rapidly changing environments that are client-driven.

    • Communicates with impact through excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
    • Displays a confident and sound judgment in making independent decisions, ensuring that others affected by decisions are involved and informed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Computer Science, or related field or related field; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 15+years experience in a similar role designing and launching digital platforms and initiatives
  • Proven track record of leading successful digital transformation processes, preferably in a global environment
  • Understanding of core business processes and associated technology solutions
  • Experience managing and leading a digital team
  • Proven influencing and collaborative skills
