CAD/CAM Engineer / Technician:
Manufacturer of specialty automated assembly systems and equipment is in need of a qualified Engineer / Technician for the design and drafting of their automation systems including creating assembly drawings.
Will be working closely with vendors and subcontractors to building the designed assembly.
There is 20%-30% travel to nationwide locations. Transportation is covered by the company.
Experience in mechanical designs using 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) including.
Having robotic arm tooling, mechanism design is a huge plus
Experience in weldment and sheet metal procedures.
Some understanding of metal properties, bolts, nuts, pocketing, chamfering..etc.
CAM using CAM software for CNC machining (HAAS Milling Equipment).
Interact directly with the customer to collect design input information, send and receive documents for approval, and in general be skilled in professional-level customer service communications and technical discussions both over the phone, via email and/or over the internet in web meetings.
Be capable of writing technical documents in English at an engineering level.
Use SolidWorks on a daily basis to create models, drawings and BOM’s. Capability and speed is critical, especially in all standard SolidWorks functions and features such as assemblies, configuration, mates, and general good modeling practices. Basic capability in FEA is preferred.
You will be assisted by a senior engineer in design work, so retention and attention is critical.
Minimum Qualification Requirement:
-Quickly and accurately create SolidWorks models and drawings from supplied reference examples. Attention to detail combined with efficiency and speed is critical.
-Quickly and accurately perform Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s)

-The candidate must have very good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
-Enthusiasm is highly valued, as is the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic and demanding work environment.
-Candidate should be self-started, disciplined and willing to work with a flexible work schedule.
- Good driving record.
Physical Requirements and Environment:
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, and may require ability to climb stairs. Work is performed in mostly internal environment with occasional exposure to external inclement weather and varying temperatures.
