Job Description

Job Title: File Clerk

Work Schedule: Full Time

SUMMARY:  We are seeking a File Clerk within our Trial practice group to assist with administrative tasks, filing and legal document management duties. The File Clerk will support the docketing functions for our Trial practice group and will provide support to our legal records management system.  He or she will be responsible for creating and maintaining physical and electronic files and providing day-to-day clerical support to attorneys and paralegals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•           Maintain electronic deposition database

•           Download, file and circulate electronic filing documents to team

•           Review and process team invoices

•           Assisting Paralegals in preparing court filings

•           Processes incoming material by verifying accuracy; sorts and codes according to defined procedures.

•           Retrieves information from files, computer records and other sources in response to specific requests.

•           Maintains logs and other records to support the tracking of case files.

•           Supports the maintenance and storage of legal documents.

•           Keeps track of borrowed materials to ascertain that they are returned.

•           Scans materials or copies records; examines materials for legibility.

•           Implements changes to the filing systems when directed to do so.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•           Must have demonstrated fluency with managing electronic docketing systems; Prior experience e-filing in Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas and Eastern District of Pennsylvania required.

•           Ability to work independently in an electronic environment including running reports, uploading and downloading documents from various electronic sources.

•           Must possess strong, consistent organizational skills along with excellent written and oral communication.

•           High school diploma.  Post-high school education preferred.

•           Minimum of 3- 5 years’ experience in document and filling management
