The primary responsibilities for this position will be to analyze, design, implement, test, and deploy software projects that support the medical respiratory products developed and manufactured by DeVilbiss Healthcare LLC.  These software projects will include Windows desktop applications, web applications, web APIs, and mobile applications, which will follow the company’s software development lifecycle and require strict adherence to FDA guidelines.  


Main Activities:

  • Design, develop, implement, and test features for existing and new PC, web, and mobile application software per defined software requirements.
  • Generate necessary documentation to fulfill requirements of the New Product Development process.
  • Define the appearance, functionality and operational characteristics of software applications.
  • Assist with the implementation and management of a global web application.  Set up and maintain a database structure to support product data management needs.  
  • Provide Technical/Customer Support.  Provide technical expertise in the system design of the products supported including software architecture, logic design, coding standards and relationship to hardware components where applicable.
  • Successfully interact with other members of the New Product Development team, Quality, Product Assurance and Marketing to achieve project and product objectives.
  • Research new technologies for use in new and existing software products.  Acquire and apply advanced technical knowledge and judgment to successfully initiate enhancements to new and existing products to improve their design, quality, reliability and to increase user experience.
  • Provide Marketing and others outside the department with feasibility studies, opinions, and viable alternatives for new design considerations or revisions to current software products.

Reporting Relationships and Supervision:

  • This position will work under the supervision of the Manager, Software Engineering.  


Education and Experience:

  • BS in Computer Science or related degree with strong emphasis in software development
  • 0-5 years relevant experience in software development
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio 2019, C#, .NET Framework 4.0 or greater, .NET Core, SQL Server 2012 or greater, JavaScript, Git, and JSON
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must be able to present information in a clear and concise manner to a multidisciplinary team
  • Understanding of relational database concepts and data-models for business applications
  • Knowledge of version control software
  • Enthusiastic to learn new technologies


Desired Experience:

  • Experience with Angular 12+, Microsoft Azure, Xamarin, iOS, Android, XAML, UX Design, MVC, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and REST APIs
  • Working with medical devices, HIPAA software regulations, GDPR, and FDA guidance for medical software
  • Working in a design control environment (e.g. using ISO 13485, ISO 9001) 
  • Global software applications deployment
