Job Description

Drift is a Botique Cafe in the heart of downtown Newport, R.I.  We pride ourselves on serving exceptional specialty coffee, wholesome foods, quality flavors, and a hospitable atmosphere.  Despite the challenges of Covid-19 faced opening in May of 2020, the team at Drift have created a desirable location for tourists and local regulars.  We are looking for a chef to lead, mentor and grow a culinary team.  This person will be responsible for developing menus and specials, manage food costs and inventory, maintain standards of cleanliness, freshness of foods, and food handling in compliance with DOH codes and regulations.  This is a full-time management position that can expect 5 days/50 hours per week and to work weekends and holidays.  Demands may be higher in peak season (Memorial Day-Colombus Day).   Starting benefits include a competitive salary, one-week paid vacation, and quarterly bonuses based on maintaining food costs.  Management and culinary skills are required.
