Host/Hostess

General Summary:

Graciously greet guests upon arrival, escort them to their table, provide menus to them once seated, and inform guests of the name of their assigned server. Manage special seating requests of guests consistent with table availability. Relays messages to servers, and bus person as appropriate. Assist with the duties of servers and bus person as needed to maintain service effectiveness and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Seat guests according to their preference
• Ensure that guests have menus and inform them of daily specials
• Meet and greet customers (internal and external) with “Welcome to the (location name)”. To make this statement effective, smiling is required
• Greets guests with “Welcome to…” and “thanks” them when they leave
• Must wear slip-resistant shoes
• Follows all company policies and procedures
• Clean and stock host stand
• Write daily specials on the board
• Assist bus persons and food servers when needed
• Keep menus clean and organized
• Organize Retail window
• Ensure the floor is free of debris
• Check restrooms hourly
• Clean and set tables after guests leave when needed
• Stock: napkins, silverware and placemats
• Assist guests with any needs
• Other duties as assigned

• Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
