About the Role:
- Our new manufacturing facility is fast becoming one of the largest soap manufacturing plants in the country. We are ramping up our volume and are seeking experienced Quality Assurance Technicians to join our new 2nd Shift!
- You'll be overseeing all Quality checks on production lines and incoming goods to ensure cGMP's are
followed and maintained. Perform routine inspection functions of the production lines and
areas. Perform sampling, evaluation, inspection, testing, and approval/release, record
archiving of materials by comparing to conforming specifications. Inspectors interact with all
levels of production management in assuring quality standards are being met. - This role will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and is a full-time role with company benefits based in Bricc City - Brea Manufacturing Plant.
- The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $20 to $23/hr. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.
What You'll Do:
- Review equipment calibration and maintenance records to ensure they are performed correctly and on time.
- Prepare and maintain Quality records for review of completeness and accuracy to meet both internal and external
- Help review/update SOPs, Work Instructions to log, track, and help create best practices
- Maintain Quality records for review of completeness and accuracy to meet both internal and external expectations
- Perform component inspections on incoming materials, in-process goods, and finished goods per approved methods, procedures, and specifications.
- Document nonconforming materials clearly and accurately with discrepancy reports
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and those related to the Quality of the product
- Follow continual improvement practices and participate in cross-functional teams
- Document line inspections and approval; provide dispositions on results of inspections
- Accurately complete all Quality forms.
- Up-to-date knowledge of federal and industry standards and best practices
- Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers and computers
- Help observe accuracy of production process
- Verify materials and quantities are in compliance with formula and spec
- Ensure quality is active and not reactionary by actively keeping records of product defects or manufacturing issues
- Communicate potential risks to management team and recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control
- Perform other duties as required.
- Problem solver with a sense of urgency Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to take ownership.
About You:
- High School Diploma or GED and 1 year QA experience are highly preferred.
- Experience working in a GMP manufacturing operation (e.g. soap, cosmetics, food, commercial bakery, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a proactive and solution focused manner, including keeping management ware of potential issues
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a highly motivated team
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, and operate under significant time pressure
- Demonstrated ability to learn on the job and quickly solve problems
- Familiarity with FDA regulated industry, highly desired
- Fast-paced learner, problem-solver and self-starter, comfortable operating in a rapidly changing startup environment
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly desired
- You can get things done without the perfect resources, are innovative and work with a sense of urgency.
- You have high standards, take ownership of your work, and are invested in the outcome.
