Operations Manager – Dogtopia of Belden-Canton

Dogtopia, the industry leader in dog daycare, boarding, and spa services has an immediate opening for an energetic, organized, business-minded individual to lead our team as Operations Manager. This is a role for someone with a management and operations background who understands hard work, how to deliver and train others to provide top customer service and ensure a great environment for the dogs in our care.

The Operations Manager is primarily responsible for management and development of their team members, operational excellence, driving sales and revenue growth, and ensuring the highest safety standards and levels of satisfaction for all pet and their pet parents.

Team Management

  • Oversee all hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development and management
  • Create weekly staffing schedules and monitor daily schedules
  • Maintain optimum staffing and development with all employees
  • Lead by example by coaching all on contributing to a positive team-oriented culture
  • Provide written performance reviews and give employees positive acknowledgement
  • Ensure all team members are performing job responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Cover employee shifts when call-offs occur or arrange for coverage - must be comfortable and confident working with large groups of dogs in open play

Clean and Safe Environment

  • Ensure the dogs in our care are always in a safe and clean environment – we take pride in working as a team to get all the nitty gritty complete
  • Maintain and update cleaning and maintenance schedules
  • Hold self and team accountable to the Dogtopia’s safety and cleaning standards
  • Dismiss dogs proactively with ongoing behavior issues and monitors action plans to retain those with minor issues
  • Proactively handle any dog incident and communicate to pet parents, owner and HQ with proper documentation and followup

Financial and Administrative

  • Maintain controllable expenses within budgetary constraints including tracking and ordering supplies, minimizing payroll, and actively look for ways to maximize efficiency
  • Communicate any concerns or needs to franchise owner proactively and partnering after attempting to resolve issues

Customer Service and Presentation

  • Set the example for the team on the 3 Ss (smile, story and satisfaction) and hold accountable to internal and external customer service standards
  • Strive for high customer review ratings
  • Proactively and quickly address customer concerns and complaints

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Must LOVE dogs and be comfortable working with large groups of dogs in open play
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
