Doctor's Data, Inc. provides innovative specialty testing to healthcare practitioners around the world. The laboratory provides a wide array of functional testing to aid health care providers in decision making. The position requires a strong understanding of analytical chemistry testing along with experience in the use of chromatography instruments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares Biological Specimens for analysis performed on the HPLC, GC and the LCMS including inspecting specimen integrity, pH analysis, sample extraction, pipetting various volumes accurately
Prepare stock and working reagents used in the sample prep, quality control and analytical process, weighing dry reagents, mixing reagents
Identify problems that may adversely affect the testing performance, document and report all issues to the supervisor or senior staff and correct the issue if directed.
Basic maintenance, load or replace reagents and solution on the instruments, assist supervisor or senior member in maintenance steps, clean parts, replace parts
Analyze samples, including load sample onto auto sampler, run calibration of instrument, load sample information into instrument software, and perform integration to calculate results
Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemistry from an accredited institution
Knowledge and experience in chemical principles and concepts with regard to chromatography
Ability to pipette with accuracy, experience with conducting basic laboratory procedures, including using an analytical balance, pH meter and syringe
Ability to complete assignments with high degree of accuracy and multitask with accuracy
Good written and oral communication skills and ability to read and understand technical documents
Basic math skills as it applies to science, including ratios, percents, dilutions and conversions
Computer and application experience, including word, spreadsheet and instrumentation.
