Doane University, a nationally recognized liberal arts and sciences college in Crete, NE, invites applications for the position of Executive Assistant to the Chief Academic Officer & Office of Academic Affairs. The successful applicant will provide administrative support to the Chief Academic Officer and the Office of Academic Affairs. The executive assistant proactively serves as a liaison between Academic Affairs and a wide range of individuals and organizations, both internal and external to the University.

We are looking for an organized and confident communicator who demonstrates the ability to to work effectively with diverse constituencies. In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Compose, prepare and proofread correspondence, letters, reports, memoranda, agendas, and other documents, make corrections, and revise drafts as needed.
  • Establish, maintain, and modify the Office of Academic Affairs files, records, spreadsheets, and logs.
  • Organize and prioritize large volumes of information electronically and hard copy files.
  • Coordinate event planning for special events.

Required Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • Associates degree and a minimum of 3-5 years working in an administrative assistant/executive assistant role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of constituencies inside and outside the university
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with frequent interruption and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet applications
  • Work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Professional maturity and judgment, including exceptional discretion, confident communications skills, and a capacity for resourceful initiative in a team context

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Broad knowledge of the University's various administrative units, policies, procedures, and regulations is preferred
