Doane University College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Computing, seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach a junior- / senior-level course in network administration during the spring 2023 semester.
The course, titled Networking and Security II, is a continuation of the CMP 322 Network and Security I course taught in the Fall 2022 semester. In the course, students will examine how the fundamentals of computer networking and security are implemented in a modern network environment. Topics will include network architecture, configuration, management, and security, among others. On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: design and communicate a network architecture appropriate for a specified computing environment; demonstrate the technical skills necessary to configure and manage a modern network environment; and demonstrate the technical skills necessary to configure and manage several network applications, such as file sharing or electronic mail.
The successful candidate will work with full-time faculty to develop updated course materials. Qualifications include M.S. in computer science, information systems, or related field, or significant industry experience in computer networking. Teaching experience preferred.
