Role Profile

The Diventures Marketing Leader functions as the most senior marking executive and contributes to the achievement of our mission by leading a team of marketing professionals in delivering a cohesive omni-channel marketing program that achieves business goals with special focus on new customer acquisition and greatly enhanced retention and customer loyalty. As a senior member of the store support (corporate) team, reporting directly to the General Manager, the Marketing leader is responsible for leading all aspects of the company's marketing function and shares responsibility for driving growth. She / he inspires innovation through their creative drive and entrepreneurial mindset. They will expand Diventures marketing approach through the further development of strategic digital, social and traditional marketing initiatives. This thought leader provides exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers, the Marketing Leader builds effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that the voice of the customer is the core of the enterprise marketing strategy. This individual, functions as a hands-on, visible leader, supporting long-term business growth and marketing execution for the innovative and rapidly growing company, Diventures. The Marketing Leader is an inspirational leader and ambassador of Diventures. She / he will be a positive disruptor and drive change, bringing best practices and knowledge from other industries and will be inquisitive and provocative. The successful executive will be courageous and collaborative and will bring others along with them naturally.

Key Results Areas:

  • Champion and act as a responsible steward and ambassador of the Diventures brand internally and externally
  • Develop strategic marketing plans and objectives that contribute to the achievement of overall business strategy and goals
  • Develop ROI-based, measurable marketing and demand generation programs and campaigns
  • Brand strategy and positioning: portfolio brand management; strategies to increase and enhance brand visibility and awareness.
  • In partnership with the Executive Leadership Team, build the annual marketing budget
  • Identify strategic initiatives, set and communicate priorities
  • Lead and manage advertising, public relations and media relations both directly and via agency partnership
  • Lead the evolution of the brand experience including style, web user experience, email templates, videos, digital ads, etc.
  • Ensure marketing is a strong contributor to the growth pipeline
  • Leverage digital channels to drive brand awareness and lead generation
  • Ensure marketing and sales automation systems are fully integrated and produce meaningful results
  • Partner with leadership to identify new product and go to market opportunities
  • Drive overall brand strategy for the organization relative to competitive positioning and reputational health
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships in our communities, aligned to our values
  • Maintain an impactful content and social marketing strategy to drive brand awareness and customer engagement
  • Develop and execute strategy for new store opening campaigns
  • Design a flexible organization able to anticipate trends, situations or changing marketing conditions and react accordingly
  • Develop an organizational structure to enable the achievement of the business priorities and marketing strategy
  • Hire, coach and retain high-performing marketing team members
  • Be a strong cross-functional leader who helps position Diventures as a destination employer
  • Partner with Store Managers and Program Directors to develop innovative marketing solutions to their business challenges

Experience and working knowledge:

  • Ability to oversee/lead plus step in and do the work (both broad and deep):
  • Digital experience (advertising, social, design, email)
  • Web site ownership experience (usability, SEO, content management)
  • Data analysis (defining metrics and seeing insights)
  • Creative team management
  • Storytelling, journalism, writing experience preferred
  • M&A integration experience helpful, not required


  • Proven track-record for driving results in a growth-oriented business with proven ability to lead, launch and execute Marketing strategies and initiatives successfully
  • Professional and trustworthy business leader. Must have exceptional ability to build relationships
  • Strategic thinker with broad functional experiences, including brand marketing, interactive marketing, strategic planning, market and research planning, competitive analysis, promotion and advertising
  • Visionary with a driven personality, not only highly analytical and strategic, but also creative and hands-on in nature
  • Proven success mentoring and developing a marketing team
  • Experienced building a brand growth strategy. Be both strategic and tactical with an ability to see beyond the set strategy and pivot when and where necessary
  • Bring a strong and proven understanding of customer acquisition, retention and full lifecycle marketing
  • Proven ability to build out and utilize marketing automation tools and having personalized communication with customers
  • Experience and proven ability to optimize messaging, and match the right messages with the right customer sets to maximize response, engagement, and revenue
  • Successful track record in providing leadership and facilitating effective cross-functional partnerships
  • An ability to clearly and effectively explain what marketing is doing and why to others within the company, along with effectively communicating results
  • Bring a data-driven approach and measurement mentality. Track record of driving key customer insights from customer data to inform strategies and deliver results
  • Leadership skills that include working closely and effectively with a smart and engaged executive leadership team. This includes bringing your own opinions to the table, and being willing to push back, be strong and back up your own opinions with data and quantitative arguments that explain the "why"
