Job Description

High Growth Specialty Health Care Firm going through continued expansion and looking to bring on a Controller to their team. Would explore someone who has been the #2 on the accounting team and looking for that next step in their career to own the accounting process day to day. This role would take over much of the responsibilities currently being outsourced. This role is located in North Atlanta and requires the ability to come into an office 2-3 days a week. 

  • Oversee, execute, and deliver a Month-end financial close process within 5-7 days of month-end, with full financial statements issued by the 10th of the month.
  • Prepare accurate and timely Company Financial Statements and Monthly Reporting Package.
  • Ensure compliance with billing standards in regards to insurance carrier best practices
  • Prepare and review general ledger journal entries 
  • Responsible for accounting and financial reporting activities in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage all accounts payable, check disbursement, bill payment, company credit card reconciliation, employee reimbursement, and payroll-related activities
  • Establish reporting and compliance system for bank credit agreements.
  • Prepare documentation for independent auditors and act as the primary contact in connection with the annual audit.
  • Coordinate preparation of state and local tax returns with the local public accounting firm
  • Analyze Company performance, historical trends and provide recommendations.
  • Support the annual strategic planning and budget process.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; Master’s a plus
  • CPA a plus
  • 4-8+ years experience in public or corporate accounting
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel
  • Self-motivated professional with the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and month-end/year-end close process
  • Flexible, pro-active, roll-up-your-sleeves, team-player who is an independent professional capable of self-management with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Solid writing and oral communication skills
  • Previous experience working for a healthcare-related entity
