Job Description

​District 19 Community Services Board  is offering a great opportunity for a Full time therapist for the Substance Abuse/Outpatient Program. There are currently two positions open, one position is located at our Petersburg location and the other opening is located at our Dinwiddie Clinic. Essential job duties of this position include: facilitating substance use groups, providing individual therapy, linking and coordinating consumer services, conducting screenings, orientations, intakes and assessments.

Successful applicant must have: Master degree in human service with at least two years of substance use treatment experience and is License eligible as a LPC, LSATP Addiction Specialist, LCSW, LCP, LMFT etc. Applicant must also have at least 2 years of experience providing substance use group and individual counseling; knowledge of mental health /co-occurring behaviors and experience writing clinical reports and summaries to include appropriate substance use diagnosis.

Licensed is preferred. Experience in providing crisis counseling and counseling to individuals involved with the criminal justice is preferred.

Salary Grade 210.

Position requires valid Driver’s License in state of residence with a point balance of -6 or higher, and pre-employment extensive background check and drug screening

Starting salary for new employees will be based on the prospective employee's knowledge, skills and abilities directly relating to the position's duties. Current or most recent verified salary will also be taken into consideration prior to making an offer of employment. Starting salaries for new employees will not exceed the advertised maximum and will be based on the availability of funding within the current budget.

Excellent benefits include sick and annual leave and Virginia Retirement System. Flexible work schedule, including 4 day work week, is possible in some positions.
