Overview
Manage Ste. Genevieve’s capital spending by prioritization and benefits of projects, while coordinating with MLC’s Operational, Maintenance and Commercial groups. Lead and develop capability within the project manager team by providing technical expertise, employee development, and training. Work with all departments and stakeholders, participate in technical meetings, maintain files, monitor technical developments, and submit permit documentation. In addition to leading the project management team, the SG Team Leader will be expected to execute capital projects as needed.
Requirements
Bachelors Science degree in engineering or equivalent level of education.
Minimum of 10 years in project management in a heavy industrial environment.
Ability to effectively communicate with all functional groups and through all levels of the organization
Ability to utilize project management and other engineering tools to optimize project execution
Demonstrated leadership skills
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
Essential Functions
Provide Project Engineering Management Support
Organize, report, and manage Ste. Gen’s capital budget
Prioritize capital spending based on business needs
Maintain Engineering Standards and incorporate for regulatory compliance
Manage MLC drawings and documentation, codes, and regulations into all MLC’s designs and ensure Project Managers adhere to MLC Engineering standards
Prioritize and organize Project engineering talent at the SG site
Drive improvements to procedures, methods, and process used to manage projects.
Review and approve AFEs for submittal in the project management system
Oversee the design calculations, conceptual layouts, detail drawings, estimates, schedules, risk management plans, quality management plans, communication plans, stakeholder analysis, work breakdown structures and scope of work for projects as assigned.
Coordinate and communicate throughout all stakeholders
Capital Projects
Design, scope, justify, and implement capital projects
Drive to deadlines, control costs, and report financials
Manage bid packages, specifications, and work with Purchasing to obtain materials, equipment, and contractors
Audit project processes and identify and address problems and risks that may be encountered
Takes significant direction and input from the SG Director of Operations regarding project oversight
Leadership
Develop capability within the project manager team by providing technical expertise and training.
Identify and address gaps in project manager team personnel.
Continues to perform daily support of plant requirements by developing systems to transfer the project to operators and supervisors when appropriate.
